Position Title: Electrical Engineer
Department: Projects / Engineering
Reports To: Project Manager / Senior Engineer
Location: Project Sites / Head Office (as required)
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Overview:
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising Transmission and Distribution (T&D) line EPC projects, including substations, overhead lines, and rural electrification works. The role requires technical expertise, site execution capability, and coordination with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Engineering & Design
•Assist in preparation and review of technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications for transmission and distribution line projects.
•Support feasibility studies, surveys, and line route selection.
•Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications (IEC, IEEE, NEA, RPGCL, etc.).
2. Site Execution & Supervision
•Supervise installation, erection, stringing, and commissioning of transmission & distribution lines and substations.
•Ensure adherence to approved drawings, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
•Monitor contractors and subcontractors for timely execution.
3. Project Management Support
•Assist the Project Manager in scheduling, resource planning, and progress monitoring.
•Maintain daily/weekly progress reports and highlight delays or risks.
•Support procurement by preparing material requirements and verifying technical compliance of supplies.
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
•Ensure strict compliance with company’s EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
•Conduct quality checks for materials and workmanship at site.
•Document and report non-conformities, propose corrective measures.
5. Coordination & Communication
•Liaise with design teams, clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
•Support testing & commissioning activities with utilities and clients.
•Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and site supervisors.
Qualifications & Skills:
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Power Engineering (Master’s preferred).
•2–5 years’ experience in Transmission, Distribution, or Substation EPC projects (Fresh graduates may be considered for junior roles).
•Strong knowledge of T&D engineering, equipment, and construction practices.
•Familiarity with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, Nepal Grid Codes).
•Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office.
•Good communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
•Willingness to work in remote project sites under challenging terrain.
